Seventeen people are safe in Garfield County after the Sheriff's Office says they needed to be reduced from a slot canyon.  The church group of 15 young men and two adults were in Sandthrax Canyon yesterday for a hike and got lost.  Rescue teams were dispatched to the canyon to drop food and water from a helicopter.  Crews hoisted the group out this morning.  Injures among the group were considered minor. Garfield County Sheriff Danny Perkins took to Twitter to thank deputies and search and rescue personnel from Garfield and Wayne counties, along with the crew of the Department of Public Safety helicopter that was dispatched to help.
