Cedar Breaks National Monument is clarifying its recent press release regarding changes to entrance and campground fees. Effective May 24, 2024, visitors will experience adjustments in fees aimed at enhancing visitor experiences and supporting vital maintenance projects. Notably, this marks the first significant fee adjustment since 2018.
The revised fee structure includes transitioning from the previous Group 1 per person rate to the Group 2 per person, per motorcycle, per vehicle structure for entrance fees. Additionally, the Expanded Amenity Fee (EAF) for Pt. Supreme Campground will see an increase to accommodate the inclusion of showers and account for inflation.
Commercial road-based tours will maintain a fee of $10.00 per person until May 24, 2025, after which fees will align with the 1998 standardized commercial tour structure based on manufacturer passenger capacity. Activity-based Commercial Use Authorization holders will see an increase to $15.00 per person.

The fee adjustments followed a 30-day public comment period held in October through the Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) website, ensuring transparency and community involvement in the decision-making process.
Funds generated from these adjustments will bolster crucial operations and facilitate much-needed maintenance projects. Recent endeavors, made possible by Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA) funds, have included trail maintenance, visitor programs, and barrier fence replacement at Pt. Supreme. Future allocations will support ongoing facility operations and enhance visitor services, such as interpretive exhibits, ranger programming, and improved park maps.
Cedar Breaks National Monument plays a significant role in local economies, with visitors contributing an estimated $50 million in spending to gateway regions in 2022. This expenditure supported over 650 jobs and contributed $62.2 million to local economies, highlighting the monument's importance beyond its natural beauty. For further details on fee changes and monument updates, visitors are encouraged to visit the Cedar Breaks National Monument website.
