(Salt Lake City, UT)  --  The Utah Legislature is starting its sixth special session of the year this morning.  Lawmakers called the special session to deal with issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, including how to distribute millions of dollars in CARES Act funds that are still unspent.  One item that will not be on the agenda is extending the governor's current state of emergency related to the pandemic.  Lawmakers announced yesterday that they were pulling that item from their agenda because it was not ready for consideration.  The state of emergency expires today, and Governor Herbert has the option of issuing an executive order that would extend it for another 30 days.
