Governor Gary Herbert will not issue a statewide mandate for face masks.  In a news conference today, the governor said he shared the opinions of legislative leaders, saying he wants to appeal to Utahns' better nature and desires to care for each other.  Governor Herbert did, however, mandate face masks for all students in K-12 schools as districts prepare to resume classes this fall.  Individual cities and counties can still issue local mask orders.
