Presenting The 2024 Graduating Class At Southern Utah University

The Class of 2024 at Southern Utah University (SUU) marks a milestone of achievement and dedication, with 3,047 graduates ready to embark on new journeys. Among them, distinguished student speakers Holly Biesinger and Nicolas Stein stand out, representing their peers with passion and pride. Additionally, SUU proudly honors Jesselie Barlow Anderson and Gayle L. Pollock with honorary doctorates for their remarkable contributions to the state, region, and university.

The commencement ceremony, scheduled for April 25, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., will celebrate the diverse accomplishments of the graduating class. The graduates hail from 33 countries, 48 states, and 28 Utah counties, reflecting SUU's global reach and diverse community. With an average age of 27, the Class of 2024 spans a wide range of ages, from 17 to 70.

This year's most popular degrees include general studies, nursing, psychology, biology, accounting, master of business administration, master of education, and master of accounting. The selection of Holly Biesinger and Nicolas Stein as commencement speakers underscores their exceptional achievements, leadership, and inspirational abilities.

Holly Biesinger, a double major in art education and history from West Valley City, Utah, embodies a passion for art, history, and education. Nicolas Stein, majoring in communication with an emphasis on messaging and human interaction, proudly represents his graduating class from Cedar City, Utah.

SUU will bestow honorary doctorate degrees upon Jesselie Barlow Anderson and Gayle L. Pollock for their outstanding service and contributions. Anderson's dedication to service spans decades, including roles in the state's congressional delegation and the Utah Shakespeare Festival's Board of Governors. Pollock's lifelong commitment to his field of geology and his impactful contributions to SUU students and the Bryce Canyon area earn him well-deserved recognition.
