What do I say about me? Well, I love music, reading, dogs, traveling, mythology and coffee. I love all sorts of music and have lost track of all the concerts I've been to. In fact, as I'm writing this, I've just gotten back from seeing my favorite singer and songwriter in concert. I'm also a giant geek. It's the golden age of TV and film for me, so I've told all the streaming services to "shut up and take my money!" with adaptations of the "Wheel of Time", "The Expanse", and "Umbrella Academy" on my watchlist and all the "Star Trek" I could ever ask for.

Southern Utah Celebrates Record Store Day 2023
Well, my friends we’ve made it through the depths of winter which means if you’re a music lover like I am, it’s time for Record Store Day. Record Store Day has been around since the early 2000s and since we live in southern Utah, we’re lucky to have two stores participating in Record Store Day.

A really fun celebration is taking place in Cedar City at the end of the month. You might be familiar with the Festival of Colors celebration in Spanish Fork at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple. Now, Southern Utah has its own Festival of Colors celebration...
Southern Utah Breweries To Visit For National Beer Day
National Beer Day is April 7th and in celebration of that, I wanted to highlight Southern Utah breweries. Wikipedia says, “Beer is the oldest and most widely consumed alcoholic drink in the world”. “The earliest archaeological evidence of fermentation consists of 13,000-year-old residues of a beer with the consistency of gruel found in Israel”. So, beer is a drink that has bee...
Experiencing A Rare Sight In Southern Utah
Last weekend I went with a friend to check out Gunlock Falls. I was curious as I had never been to Gunlock State Park before and my friend had not been there for a long time. Just outside St. George, Gunlock State Park was established in 1970 and is home to boating, fishing, camping, swimming, and occasionally waterfalls. The falls are a phenome...

Thaw Out In These State And National Parks This Spring
I don’t know about you, but all the snow and cold weather has me planning for warmer weather. Meaning I would like to walk around outside without feeling like I’m going to freeze to death. I know we need the moisture and I’m grateful for it, but I’m ready to thaw out now. So, with that in mind, I started...
Snowy Conditions In Cedar City For The Rest Of The Week
Driving around Cedar City is going to be tricky for the rest of the week. The National Weather Service has a Winter Storm Warning in effect until 11 pm tonight with a daytime accumulation of snow around 3 to 7 inches and less than a half inch overnight. Thursday...
There’s Something Unusual About Cedar City
There’s something unusual about Cedar City and if you’re from Cedar or have lived here long enough, you probably don’t even notice it anymore. You might be thinking about the sheep parade or even how quickly Cedar is growing. But those aren’t the things I’m...
Utah’s Oldest Town
If you’ve lived in Utah your entire life like I have, you probably think you know everything there is to know about Utah. It’s located on the lands of five indigenous tribes the Utes, Navajo, Paiute, Goshute, and Shoshone, it has the Salt Flats, many national parks, and a sometimes-smelly lake called the Great Salt Lake.

A Celebration Of A Cedar City Institution
It’s a snowy and frigid night when members of the Cedar City community gather to celebrate the 30-year birthday of Groovacious, the independently owned and operated record store in Cedar City. The weather may have been cold but the interior of the record store is filled with warmth, both from the store absolutely being packed with people and the love of all those people packing the store and I’m g
