Cedar Area Interfaith Alliance Holding Donation Drive Thursday
I've talked on the radio and written here on more than one occasion on needs in the community, and how the community finds a way to meet those needs. Time and time again, I have been amazed at how we respond and try to ease the burdens of those facing food insecurity and homelessness. I know, there's more work to be done, but by in-large, there is a spirit of giving and helpfulness in this community that I consider to be exceptional.
One of the groups here in town that provides essential needs to a part of our society that is in some very desperate times. That organization is Canyon Creek Services, and they provide shelter, counseling and essential needs to those who are victims of domestic violence. It's a vital need in our community, but Canyon Creek Services can't thrive without help from us.
Canyon Creek Services is in need of items to help them in their mission, and another group in town is stepping up to answer the call.
How You Can Help
CAIFA, the Cedar Area Interfaith Alliance is holding a donation collection on Thursday, April 10th at the Christ The King Catholic Church at 690 S. Cove Drive here in Cedar City. The hours of the collection will be from 3pm to 6pm.
Some of the items needed are heating pads and shower curtains along with Clorox wipes, phone chargers, and umbrellas.
You can see a more comprehensive list in the flier below.
The mission of the Cedar Area Interfaith Alliance is “Religious Community in Unity.” I think that is exceptional. There is no reason why differing faith traditions cannot work together to provide support and relief to the community as a whole, and especially to those who are in need of a helping hand.

If you can lend a helping hand and drop off a donation, it will go a long way to helping someone in a bad situation. Remember, they will be there from 3pm to 6pm Thursday, April 10th.
