Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital will host its annual Family Health Fair and Flu Shot Clinic on Saturday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event combines health education, free screenings, and family-friendly activities designed to promote wellness throughout the community.

Rachelle Hughes, Communications Manager for Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital was with us on the Big Picture Morning Show on KSUB and told us, “It will be inside the hospital concourse. Normally where you go and sit and wait for your doctors appointments will be lined with all kinds of different booths for our health fair.”

Visitors can explore dozens of free booths offering health information, screenings, and educational resources. The Southwest Utah Public Health Department will again provide flu shots at low or no cost, helping residents prepare for the upcoming flu season. To streamline the process, participants are encouraged to visit SWUhealth.org/flu ahead of time to complete consent forms. Parents visiting the car seat safety check station will be entered into a drawing for a free car seat.

New Features Include An America 250 Event

Several new features have been added this year, including activities tied to Iron County’s America 250 celebration. The Liberty Walk invites participants to stroll along the Cedar City Hospital trail, collect stickers or stamps at flag stations, and earn entries for an outdoor prize basket.

A highlight for younger visitors will be the new Teddy Bear Clinic for children 12 and under. Kids can bring their own teddy bears—or receive one of the 150 available at the event—to “treat” their plush patients, helping them become more comfortable with medical settings.
