Cedar City is gearing up for the dazzling 2024 Star Search Competition, a celebration of talent and community spirit that promises an unforgettable night of entertainment.

Auditions for the competition are now open until Friday, February 16, 2024, providing aspiring performers in the greater Iron County community with the chance to showcase their skills and win $250 in their respective age category or division.

Scheduled for Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Heritage Theater, this year's competition will feature both solo and group divisions, ensuring a diverse and dynamic showcase of talent. The event is not only an opportunity for participants to shine but also a chance for the community to come together in support of their friends, family, and neighbors.

Mayor Garth Green encourages everyone to mark their calendars and be part of this fun-filled community event, emphasizing that the essence of the competition lies in the unity it fosters within the community. The night promises to be filled with cheers, applause, and an abundance of talent.

What sets this year's Star Search Competition apart is its commitment to giving back to the community. The event will serve as a platform for fundraising efforts benefiting Canyon Creek Services, a non-profit advocacy organization that provides free, confidential, and comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Beaver, Iron, and Garfield counties.

Past Star Search competitions have showcased an array of talents, from singers and dancers to musicians, magicians, and ventriloquists. The message to potential contestants is clear: be inspired by the diverse talents of previous participants and take the plunge by submitting your audition. You might just be the next star to shine on the Heritage Theater stage.

After selling their spectacular Southern manor home in 2010, Alan Jackson and his wife moved to to what might be an even more impressive mansion, if that's even possible. Their 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom, 22,012-square-foot estate in the same Nashville suburb of Franklin features bedrooms that are all well-appointed suites, while the formal dining and living areas are finished off with splendid arched doorways, oversized windows and elaborate woodwork. The residence also includes a bar, a media room and multiple indoor and outdoor fireplaces. It sold for $19 million in March of 2021.
