Champs Again! Flippin’ Birds Take MPFS Title

In a dazzling display of talent and determination, the Southern Utah University gymnastics team, affectionately known as the Flippin' Birds, has clinched back-to-back conference championships in two different conferences, solidifying their dominance in collegiate gymnastics. Their latest triumph came in the form of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) title, where they showcased their prowess with an outstanding score of 196.625.

Leading the charge was freshman sensation Niya Randolph, who exemplified why she was named the MPSF Gymnast of the Year by clinching the all-around title with a remarkable score of 39.375. Randolph's stellar performance, which included impressive showings on the bars and floor exercises, underscored her immense potential and contribution to the team's success.

However, Randolph was not alone in her brilliance. The Flippin' Birds boasted a roster of exceptionally talented gymnasts who delivered exceptional performances across all disciplines. Sophomore Kennedi McClain, junior Ellie Cacciola, and senior Anna Hartley dazzled on the beam, each earning a share of first place with a score of 9.900. Freshman Brinlee Christensen showcased her skill on the vault, tying for the top spot with a score of 9.900.

Reflecting on their victory, Head Coach Scotty Bauman commended his team's resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
