Discover The Beauty Of Cedar Breaks At The Wildflower Festival

Experience the vibrant beauty of Cedar Breaks National Monument at the annual Wildflower Festival, running now through July 14, 2024. This free event showcases the stunning summer blooms that adorn the subalpine landscapes of Cedar Breaks, offering visitors a deeper appreciation of this unique ecological sanctuary.

One of the festival's highlights is the Guided Wildflower Walks led by park rangers. These educational walks provide insights into the native wildflowers thriving in the high plateau environment. Walks are scheduled daily, with sessions ranging from thirty minutes to an hour and a half. Visitors are encouraged to check in at the Visitors Center for specific details.

On Saturdays and Sundays, walks commence at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, while weekday walks start at 2:00 PM.

As part of the festivities, Cedar Breaks is hosting the "Wildflower Works of Art" Art Contest. Open to all ages, this contest invites participants to capture the essence of Cedar Breaks' super blooms through various artistic mediums including paintings, drawings, sketches, and photography. Submissions will be accepted starting July 6th through July 31st, with detailed instructions available at cebrinfo@nps.gov.

Entries will be judged collectively, with categories divided into Youth (12 & under) and General Public (12 & over). Winners from each category will be announced on August 14th. Participants must ensure that submissions are original and disclose any use of photo editing tools like Photoshop for photography entries.
