Enoch Named Utah’s Top Spot For Affordable Living
In an era when Utah's rapid growth has brought rising housing prices and increasing costs of living, one small southern Utah community is proving that affordability and quality of life can still go hand in hand.
According to a recent ranking by Nextdoor, Enoch has been named the best-value place to live in Utah, earning the top position on the platform's list of the state's most affordable communities. The ranking evaluated cities across Utah based on affordability as well as factors such as community engagement, friendliness, homeownership, and neighborhood quality.

For residents of Iron County, Enoch's first-place finish may come as little surprise. Nestled just north of Cedar City, the city has long attracted families, retirees, and workers seeking a quieter lifestyle without sacrificing access to amenities. What sets Enoch apart is its ability to offer many of the advantages of small-town living while remaining close to shopping, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities in neighboring Cedar City.
Enoch: Perfect For Affordability And Friendliness
Nextdoor awarded Enoch a perfect affordability score and a perfect friendliness score, reflecting what many residents already know: the community offers both value and a welcoming atmosphere. The platform highlighted Enoch's peaceful environment, low crime rate, strong sense of community, quality schools, and convenient access to outdoor recreation.

The recognition also shines a spotlight on southern Utah's growing appeal. While much of the state's population growth has been concentrated along the Wasatch Front, communities like Enoch continue to attract newcomers looking for a more affordable alternative. Residents enjoy easy access to hiking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities, all while avoiding many of the traffic and housing pressures found in larger metropolitan areas.

Enoch was not the only southern Utah community to receive recognition. Parowan also placed in the top ten, while Beaver and La Verkin appeared among the state's most affordable communities. Their inclusion suggests that many of Utah's best values can still be found in smaller towns where strong community ties remain an important part of daily life.

For Enoch, however, the distinction of being ranked Utah's most affordable city stands as a noteworthy achievement. At a time when many families are searching for ways to stretch their budgets without compromising their quality of life, the community's combination of affordability, safety, and neighborly spirit has earned it statewide recognition as Utah's best value.
