The U.S. government has completed a renaming project that eliminates the word "squaw" from the names of more than 600 landmarks. The Department of the Interior announced the completion of the project yesterday. The effort began last year as a way to eliminate a word that many Native Americans find offensive. Fifty peaks, valleys, benches, basins and streams in Utah now have new names as part of the initiative.
