A new bill seeks to cut the number of license plates needed on a vehicle from two to one. Many states no longer require a front plate. Senator Daniel McCay is sponsoring House Bill 45. This bill proposes that money saved from printing half the number of plates could go to the Utah Highway Patrol to increase trooper availability. The bill passed the House Revenue and Taxation Committee with a favorable recommendation.
