Utah hunters who missed out on drawing a buck deer or bull elk permit earlier this year will get one final opportunity to obtain a big game permit for the 2025 season. The remaining permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis beginning this week, and a valid hunting or combination license is required to purchase them.

“If you happened to miss the big game drawing or were unsuccessful, this is your last opportunity for a chance to hunt big game in Utah this fall,” said Lindy Varney, Wildlife Licensing Coordinator for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR), in a press release. “Don’t forget that you can mentor a youth during these hunts, making it a great opportunity to pass on your love of the outdoors to the next generation.”

Archery And Youth Archery Permits Available Tomorrow

The first permits become available on Tuesday, July 8, starting with unlimited general-season archery elk permits and youth general-season elk permits, which allow youth under 18 to participate in all general-season elk hunts. On the same day, leftover general-season buck deer permits, youth archery deer permits, and the remaining 20 limited-entry buck deer permits will also go on sale. Additionally, over-the-counter bison permits for the Nine Mile unit will become available that day; however, hunters must complete an online orientation course before purchasing.
