A very well-known department store that offers a variety of products, from clothing and footwear to home goods, furniture, and gifts has announced that they'll be shutting down ANOTHER 150 locations. Renowned for its fashion, beauty, and home essentials, they also hosts iconic events, such as the Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Fourth of July fireworks display.

WHAT DEPARTMENT STORE IS IT?

If you haven't already picked it up from the Thanksgiving Day Parade, the department store in question is... MACY'S. With locations all over the United States, including several in Utah, Nevada, and California, it's not yet announced which stores will get the axe. This is just another major retailer closing doors across the country, in hopes of staying afloat. Stores like Bed Bath & Beyond, Big Lots!, Joann, and Rue21 have all met similar demise in the recent years.

CALIFORNIA, NEVADA, UTAH:

Will we be safe in the Western United States? It doesn't look promising for Macy's in California, Nevada or Utah. Utah has already had some one their Macy's close in the recent years, and with so many people moving toward online shopping, Macy's isn't seeing much use of having an actual brick and mortar store front.

WILL THIS AFFECT THE THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE OR 4TH OF JULY?

Word has not come out about the future of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade or Fireworks show on July 4th, but it seems unlikely that this would affect such a longstanding tradition in America. Keep your fingers crossed that your favorite Macy's location still has unlocked doors in a few months time.
