Iconic Restaurant Chain Closing 150 Locations: Utah, California & Nevada At Risk!
It's 2:00 am, and you're wrapping up a late-night adventure. You're suddenly craving pancakes and bacon! Where are you headed? It appears that your favorite "Always-Open" diner might not be so *always open* anymore. This popular restaurant chain is set to close 150 locations across the US over the next year, including 50 locations by the end of 2024!
WHAT IS THE CHAIN?!
I'm sorry to break the news to you but... Denny's has announced plans to close 150 locations across the U.S., and if you're in Utah, California, or Nevada, brace yourself—your local Denny's could be on the chopping block!
- Denny’s is shutting down 50 locations by the end of 2024, and another 100 will follow in 2025.
- That’s 10% of their U.S. restaurants! After all is said and done, there will be around 1,375 locations left.
Denny’s hasn’t revealed which spots are doomed, but with 389 locations in California (a whopping 25% of the total Denny's worldwide), 40 in Nevada, and 23 in Utah, the West Coast is definitely at risk of losing some beloved 24-hour grub!
WHY?! JUST WHY?
Well, it’s not exactly a Grand Slam for Denny's. The chain is shutting down underperforming restaurants, mainly those that are too outdated to remodel or in areas that are no longer profitable. If the building’s crumbling and no one’s coming in for late-night Moons Over My Hammy, it’s probably on the list.
IS YOUR DENNY'S GONE?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see if your local Denny’s bites the dust. But one thing's for sure—those late-night runs for pancakes might soon become a thing of the past. And let’s face it, without a 24-hour diner, how are we supposed to satisfy those weird 3 a.m. cravings?
If you're in California, Utah, or Nevada, keep an eye out. Your go-to greasy spoon might be disappearing faster than you can say "Lumberjack Slam!"
