Living here in Utah, it feels like we always get crapped on. People say it's boring, or too white, or nothing to do. Our state has so many different landscapes that it's AWESOME for movie making! Not only are the landscapes great, but everything is maintained well, we have an amazing economy and we're the youngest state in the nation!

Originally titled The Boys Of Summer, The Sandlot is a CLASSIC for kids that are definitely now adults. It's a movie you could watch every summer! Shot in the summer of 1992 all over the Salt Lake Valley, some days got SO HOT, over 110 degrees that 'Smalls' even got weak running around the bases. Some days also got SO COLD, that when they shot the famous Pool Scene, the water was only 56 degrees. If you look closely, you can see 'Squints' teeth chattering in the pool as he looks at Wendy.

Launching the career of star, Zac Efron, High School Musical became a monster hit! This spun into a trilogy of movies, High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The movies were filmed all over Utah at East High School, and more notably, in St. George & Ivins for Part 2. Part 3 grossed over $259,000,000 at the box office!

If you've never seen Footloose, you've at least heard of it, know the music from it, or know that Kevin Bacon was in it. Filmed all over Utah county, but most obvious is Payson High School. Footloose was the 6th highest grossing film of 1984. It made over $80,000,000 at the box office in '84, which would be $240,000,000 today!

If you've seen Independence Day with Will Smith, you've PROBABLY noticed a few memorable scenes In Utah like the scene with the Alien at the Bonneville Salt Flats where Will Smith drops his iconic line, “What the hell is that smell?!” Independence Day. The film won multiple academy awards, was the #1 movie of 1996, and grossed over $817,000,000! WOW!

Still to this day, many people didn't even know Dumb & Dumber was filmed MOSTLY in Utah. Harry & Lloyd's apartment is located in Downtown Salt Lake City, the Mansions are in Park City, when they "expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this" was actually out by Kennecott mine in West Valley.

If you ever drive down Highway 163, you'll see cars parked on the side of the road ready to get their pictures of this iconic place.
