Jake Hill scored 19 touchdowns in his career with the Snow Canyon Warriors and made himself into one of the most lethal offensive weapons in the state his senior year.

He caught 39 passes for 601 yards for the Snow Canyon in 2022 and lead them to a 5-1 record in Region 10. He started the season off with a bang against Northridge. He 5 catches, 141 yards and 3 touchdowns. His biggest in-region game came against Crimson Cliffs. The 6'3" senior caught 7 passes for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Hill was a 4A First Team All-State selection for the Warriors, and had received interest from several in-state schools.

Hill appeared on The Andy Thompson Show to announce his decision:

Announcement

"I will be attending BYU next Fall. During the Summer I attended a couple of camps at BYU so I was on their radar a little bit. Then after the season ended, Utah State reached out to me and offered me in December. So I was leaning towards [Utah State] for a little while and then towards the beginning of last week a coach from BYU called and offered me and so I had to decide between those two and took a visit up at Utah State and then visited BYU last weekend.

What sold you on BYU?

"Both programs were great, but I think the feeling I had at BYU felt more of a home to me and I think that's what made my decision a lot more clear."

What have they told you about what position you'll play?

"They have three starting receivers coming back and I think they were going to see if they wanted me at safety or wide receiver so I think we'll just figure it out when I get up there."

Did the fact that BYU is now a BIG 12 program factor in?

Yeah that factored in just because it is bigger and better competition, but I've grown up a fan of BYU, my grandpa played there under LaVell Edwards so it's kindof just been a dream of mine since I was little.

Hill will be a preferred walk-on at BYU. Other recent PWO players for BYU include Payton Wilgar, Tyler Allgeier and Dax Milne.
