Utah Stands Alone For Most Searched Super Hero and Villain

Who is your favorite superhero? Ovid crunched the numbers to find out what each state in the U.S. was searching for when it comes to comic book heroes. The most searches in Utah were for Iron Man.

Utah's Standout Choice: Iron Man

This is unusual for Utah. Usually the state blends in with a majority of other states. We don't like to stick out more than we already do. Not this time. We were the only state looking for information about Tony Stark and his not so secret alter ego.

The most searched by multiple states was the Hulk. There was a total of 8 states searching for info on the big green guy. Next was Captain America who was tops for 5 states. Batman and Batgirl tied for third with 4 states each.

Villain Preferences: Utah's Unique Searches

When it comes to villains, Utah searched for info on Green Goblin the most. Like Iron man, Utah was the only state to choose this villain. Once again Utah is standing on its own. The Joker was searched by 14 states and Bane had a total of 9 states.

What does this mean? Why is Utah not blending in with other states as we so often do in other surveys? Utahns have traditionally felt a little insecure about looking to strange and we are quick to find the safe choice. Maybe Iron Man has inspired us to step out.

We were with the majority of the nation that searched for Marvel comic book characters as opposed to DC. That was the safer choice, so there's that.
