Strollers on the Strip

On reddit a user recently posted about their vacation in Las Vegas and went off on all the parents who bring their children with them to Sin City. The post describes kids running through the casino and keeping guests awake at night.

The comments after the post continue with descriptions of little kids in strollers well into the early morning hours. Others talk about mothers carrying babies through smoke filled casinos. They say security isn't as strict about gambling areas and children.

Who is to Blame?

This isn't just a new subject on reddit and other sites. People have been complaining about those who bring their young children to Las Vegas for years. The explanations for why this happens fall into three categories.

The first is that Las Vegas began to market it as a place for families back in the 90s and early 2000s. People came to think of it as a giant free theme park with pirate displays and amazing water features to gawk at.

The second is that many visiting are from other countries and cultures where keeping children up late is more common. There could be some disconnect from what we in America consider normal.

Mostly those weighing in blame it on bad parenting. Many wonder why you would bring young kids into a place known for drinking and gambling. Their advice is to leave the kids with relatives or plan a different vacation.

What do you think? Can a visit to the Las Vegas strip include little children?
