The Most Hair-Conscious States: Who Tops the Charts?
Arkansas was the state that spends the most on hair cuts in the entire United States. Next in line was Florida and then North Carolina. I visited both those places last year and I wasn't overwhelmed how people looked.
In fact, from my limited very subjective opinion, I think the average Utahn looks pretty amazing compared to either of those places. Look around next time you are in public. Most people are fairly well groomed with only the occasional bad hair day.
Men’s Haircuts in Utah are Not Too Expensive
Part of the reason Utah may be so low when it comes to spending on hair care is how little men in Utah spend on getting their hair cut. A survey done last year showed the most popular men's hairstyle in every state. The popular cut in Utah is a cheap one.
Utah was listed as buzz cut. That's the short everywhere look. You can do that cut at home with a pair of clippers. No wonder the state only had Virginia and New Jersey below it for hair care spending.

The methodology used was to look at how much a haircut cost in each state and divide that by the median income.
