
Gen Z Believes They Are Psychic But Utahns May Find These Powers Familiar
Younger people in Utah are talking about psychic abilities and many feel they have certain spiritual powers. This may sound confusing for older generations but when you explore what is meant by these powers, it sounds somewhat familiar.
Gen Z’s Unique Beliefs in Psychic Powers
Research done by talker research found that nearly a third of Gen Z believed that they have psychic abilities. This is higher than other segments of the population, although it may surprise you to find out 1 in 5 Americans believe the same.
So, what do they mean when they claim psychic abilities? Can they move a fork with their mind or communicate without speaking? Those would be awesome, but that's not what we are talking about here.
Defining Psychic Abilities: More Than Meets the Eye
Digging into what abilities they felt they had, they said they could tell when something was "off". Others said they could perceive when someone was lying. They also claimed to be able to immediately know when someone was right for them.
This is kind of just a rebranding of what older generations would call a hunch, or reading the room, or being perceptive. Labeling it as psychic abilities does sound more mysterious and maybe makes you more interesting.

I think what this survey points out is how often we humans are discovering amazing new things that frankly have always been around. It is like the never ending parade of life gurus sharing their stunning insights that are sitting in old books that no one reads.
