I remember one year when my wife and I were going stir-crazy, craving a break but without much cash to splurge. Luckily, we had a neighbor whose uncle lived in Las Vegas, just a short drive away. Inspiration struck—we asked him to reach out to his cousin (the uncle's daughter) to pull together some insider tips on fun, budget-friendly things to do in Vegas. Not only did she make a list of affordable spots, but she even invited us to stay with them and offered to be our guide.
So, here’s an updated rundown of free entertainment options in Las Vegas:
The Aquarium at Silverton Casino Lodge: Check out the 117,000-gallon tank housing over 5,000 exotic fish from around the world—and real mermaids make an appearance every half-hour from 4 p.m. onward.
The Atlantis Show at The Forum Shops: Caesars Palace: Enjoy animatronic statues that stand nine feet tall and come to life, with dramatic fire and water effects for a memorable (and free!) show.
Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at UNLV: Art lovers can admire contemporary works in this cultural gem, showcasing everything from local to global art for free.
The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat: This four-acre garden at Flamingo Las Vegas is a family-friendly haven filled with exotic birds, turtles, and koi fish.
And of course, a Vegas trip isn’t complete without watching **The Fountains of Bellagio** and visiting the **Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens**. The garden displays massive floral scenes that change six times a year, so it’s a new experience each time!
Vegas doesn’t have to be pricey—get the best of the city’s hidden gems without spending a dime.
