Fast Food For A Good Cause In Cedar City

Let’s be honest, eating out is so much easier than cooking. You don’t need to mess with all the grocery shopping, finding Tupperware for the leftovers, and then finding room in the refrigerator for those leftovers, and then after all that then there’s the kitchen clean-up. So why not eat out guilt-free for a good cause? 

Canyon Creek Services has brought back its Dine Out for Shelter program this year. The Dine Out for Shelter program helps raise funds to support their emergency shelter and programs that serve survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the community.

Canyon Creek Services states in its “About Us” section that it was created in 1994 when a group of community members and stakeholders came together to build a shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence. Then called Canyon Creek Women’s Crisis Center, it was granted 501c3 status in 1996 and has been serving Beaver, Iron, and Garfield counties ever since.  

One of the restaurants participating this year is The Pizza Cart. May 28th The Pizza Cart will be donating 50% of its profits from the entire day to help Canyon Creek Services. The Pizza Cart began as a food truck in an Ace Hardware parking lot and the owners Jason and Cindy Murray, made their first wood-fired pizza oven from the clay in their garden in 2009.
