Utah is absolutely a gaming state and that means that whether it's Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox or anything else, games are being played.

However, not all games are equal, and state surveys show just how popular certain games are in each state. They differ year to year based on game releases, fan bases and playability. So, which game is Utah playing the most?

Well, in 2022 Utahns were playing Far Cry according to Game Rant. Steam said this is a shooter game that takes place in a tropical background. It has had several variations all the way up to 13.

The game isn’t rated E for everyone so most likely it was adults making this the most played game in Utah in 2022.

This year, Utah went with a more peaceful game and a classic; Minecraft, Coinflipper said The first version of the beloved game was released in May 2009, and it's been growing ever since. It is a pretty simple game that doesn’t have a set objective. It's an open world game where a player spawns and gets to build, destroy, replace and move blocks, Red Bull said.

This game is rated E for everyone and even though it doesn’t have a set objective, avid video game players tend to go back to explore.

So, for reasons unknown, Utah is going for the cozy game vibe this year.

With several knew game releases like Stray coming out this year, the shift in game play may become evident in 2025 for Utah gamers. Only time will tell.
