Kane County Fentanyl Seizure: KSUB News Summary

More than 22 pounds of fentanyl is now off the streets of southern Utah. The Kane County Sheriff's announced Friday an estimated amount of more than 100-thousand pills were seized during a traffic stop on the westbound side of US-89. Four people in the vehicle were taken into custody, while deputies also found a toddler inside. The sheriff's office said two of the individuals admitted to possessing and selling the drug, and all four were taken to the jail in Kane County. The toddler was taken to a shelter in St. George.

Police Give Tips For Holiday Season Safety

The Salt Lake City Police Department is giving safety tips for this holiday season. The department posted a video reminding people that during December, there's an uptick of crashes because of winter weather and the potential for theft as people fill their cars with gifts. Police are advising people to be aware of their surroundings and secure gifts in car trunks, or out of view from others. The department says there will be an increased police presence at some intersections near the downtown Salt Lake City area to help guide traffic.

Summit County Sheriff Deputy Hits SUV To Protect Other Drivers

A deputy with the Summit County Sheriff's Office is safe after slamming into an SUV that was driving in the wrong direction. The SUV was heading towards the deputy on Highway Forty at a speed less than fifty miles per hour, so the deputy decided to intercept the vehicle. The sheriff's office says the deputy hit the SUV's front passenger side, and neither the deputy or the female driver were injured. Officials say the accident could have been alcohol-related.
