Law Enforcement Open House Set For Saturday
Want to have a close encounter with law enforcement without the flashing read and blue lights? You have your chance this Saturday, May 13th as it is the annual Law Enforcement Open House.
The activity is set to take place starting at 1:00PM on the lawn of the Iron County Sheriff's Office. The office is located at 2132 North Main Street. It is schedule to last about two hours. All local law enforcement agencies are expected to be represented.
The day will feature several show and tell exhibits. Area SWAT team members will be providing a look at their equipment and will be doing demonstrations showing how they address individual situations, and how they set up to bring peaceful resolutions to tense atmospheres.
K-p units will also be at the open house and community members will be able to see how these well trained and valiant animals assist and provide protection to officers in the course of their duties.
Along with regular police cruisers, agency specialty vehicles will also be one display for members of the public to see and inspect. Along with the ground vehicles, there is the possibility that an agency helicopter will be on sight.
The officers from our local law enforcement agencies look forward to this event, and it is their hope that a significant number of community members will come out and enjoy a relaxed, educational and fun experience with those who have made the commitment to serve and protect our cities, communities and county. Come out and enjoy the day!
