409 personnel have now been assigned to the reignited Left Fork Fire burining near Brycae Canyon National Park. An update issued by authorities Wednesday morning estimate the fire growing now to a size of 3,984 acres. The Kane County Sheriff's Office was recommending evacuations of homes and cabins near the fire. The town of Hatch is on alert. Efforts are being concentrated to maintain the right (west) flank of the fire and holding the line on the north side of the blaze. The Left Fork Fire is now estimated at 5% containment. Weather changes have made suppression strategies difficult in some areas of the fire. The National Weather Service has predicted a chance of wetting rain in the area of the fire for the rest of the week. Current estimates indicate the fire will not be contained until August 1st.
