Before talking with her about what she hopes to accomplish in the next term, we asked her what it was like for her on election day. “It's hard to explain what that's like. I mean, I've been involved in politics for a while. I've lived through a few election days, but when it's you on the ballot, Election Day is the day where you suddenly don't have that much to do because you can't change anything at that point, but you don't know anything either. And so I suddenly get very productive on Election Day. I get laundry done and the dishes done and things rearranged, and I just start nervously doing things. Even even this time where it looked pretty good,” Maloy told us.

We then asked the congresswoman what we can expect from the House of Representatives in the next term. “I think the House is going to be putting forth a lot of legislation to address the things that we've all been hearing about on the campaign trail. We were hearing from our constituents, what it is they're concerned about, and so I think the next two years, the 119th Congress is going to be a lot of bills and policy changes to try to simplify and streamline the federal government. They're tired of how much red tape they're dealing with. They're tired of government being a hindrance to their life instead of something that allows them to live freely,” Maloy said.

When asked about government spending, Maloy says spending is tied to the size and efficiency of government. “I think the first step to cutting back spending is what I'm talking about. If if we don't have all the government we're paying for right now, then it gets less expensive to run the government. So I think that's the easy first step, the the really tough step is going to be taking on mandatory spend(ing),” Maloy stated.
