One Lead Change In An Iron County GOP Primary Race From Updated Numbers
Though it is unlikely to change the outcome in this statewide race, here in Iron County one race changed leaders based on additional ballots that were counted through out the day on Wednesday.
Results released on Primary night by the Iron County Clerks office showed that John Curtis holding a 47 vote lead over Trent Staggs among voters in the Republican Primary in Iron County. However, updated results released on Wednesday afternoon show that Staggs had erased that deficit here in Iron County and now leads Curtis by 35 votes.
All of the other leaders announced on Tuesday night in Iron County continue to lead in their races based on the updated results from Wednesday afternoon.
Phil Lyman leads Spencer Cox by 635 votes here in Iron County. While most media outlets have called the race for Cox, Lyman at this point has indicated he will not concede until the results are final.
In Iron County, Celeste Maloy held a 684 vote lead over Colby Jenkins in the race for the Utah 2nd District race for the U.S. House of Representatives. In the updated numbers released on Wednesday, Maloy increased her lead by one to 685.
Tina Cannon and Joann Brinton continue to maintain their lead in Iron County for the races for State Auditor and State School Board District 15 races respectively.
In the race for the Iron County Commission Seat C Race, Kenneth L Robinson saw his lead over Maile Wilson Edwards increase by 474 votes. Wilson Edwards took to social media on Wednesday and offered her congratulations to Robinson on winning the race.
With additional ballots being tabulated on Wednesday, voter turnout for the Republican Primary in Iron County is now listed at 48.2% with a total of 9,605 ballots cast so far. The County Clerk's office has indicated it will release updated vote totals on Friday.
