The Games Are Set To Begin
If you've been driving around town the last week or so, you've likely seen signs that summer is just about on us. The signs I'm talking about are the signs and banners proclaiming the upcoming 36th annual Utah Summer Games.
The Utah Summer Games is an annual multi-sport event held in Utah, United States. The games were first established in 1986 and have since become one of the largest amateur athletic events in the state. The primary goal of the Utah Summer Games is to promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, and friendly competition among athletes of all ages and skill levels.
The games feature a wide range of sporting events that include both traditional Olympic sports and non-traditional sports. Some of the popular sports included in the Utah Summer Games are basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, swimming, track and field, cycling, tennis, golf, gymnastics, wrestling, and many more.
Participants in the Utah Summer Games come from various backgrounds, including youth, adults, and seniors. The event provides an opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills, compete against others, and potentially qualify for national and international competitions.
One of the most anticipated events of the Utah Summer Games is the Opening Ceremony. This year the Opening ceremony will be held on Friday, June 9th with a statr time of 8:30PM. Gates for the event will open at 7:30. The night will feature arguably southern Utah's best display of fireworks. Also as part of the Opening Ceremony will be a performance by country duo Locash.

Respected entertainers with prominent recognition, they hold a history of nods from the genre’s biggest awards shows including a Vocal Duo of the Year nomination at The 56th Annual CMA Awards.
Also on June 9th, The Utah Summer Games will br presenting a community block party. The block party will feature a live DJ with music along with food, face painting, a softball game and many other activities. The block party will start at 4PM.
