It's not quite Halloween, but the monsters are coming out tonight in Cedar City, and they will be here for a couple of weekends. It's the annual presentation of Calling All The Monster presented by the Cedar City Children's Musical Theatre.

And you'll find one thing mostly missing in this production from CCCMT, namely children. This is a different production and is actually a fundraiser for the organization. Because of that, and a limited size of the cast for this production, there is limited opportunity for youth performers for this one production. Most of the cast will consist of the adult volunteers of the organization.

This year is the tenth anniversary of the production, and patrons will be able to enjoy more than a show. There will also be a dinner included for the evening performances. The dinner will have drinks, salad and bread, a main meat course with vegetables and will be complete with dessert.

Dinner will be served on all the night performances, but will not be available for the two matinee shows.

The premise of the show is a gathering of all the typical Halloween characters gathering for a night at Frankenstein's Castle. While there, they enjoy typical monster fun of doing experiments, enjoy a few blood cocktails and try to win over the best looking monster. And, since they are monsters, there will be some hi-jinks involved. It's a funny show, and even if you have seen it, come again. There's a new twist every season.

If you are not familiar with CCCMT, they are a non-profit organization in town, with a goal of providing musical theater experiences to local children regardless of experience of the child or the ability to pay. In providing these opportunities, CCCMT hopes to help participants develop self confidence and pride in a job well done. Oh, and they hope the kids have a lot of fun, too.

Performances of Calling All The Monsters will be at 6:30PM on October 13th, 14th, 16th, 20th and 21st. Matinee performances will be at 1:00PM on October 14th and 21st. The shows are at 150 Altamira Avenue in Cedar City. That's the old hospital building so there could be an extra ghost or two hanging around.
