U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg announced billions of dollars in infrastructure support for Utah. While in Salt Lake City today, Buttigieg said the over seven-billion dollars the state will get over five years will help protect communities from extreme weather. The program will modernize infrastructure to withstand wildfires, flooding, mudslides and droughts. Outside the state Capitol today, Governor Spencer Cox said the program will protect Utah while not sacrificing other necessary transportation projects.
