Calling All Artists: Zion National Park Residency Program Now Open
Are you captivated by the awe-inspiring beauty of Zion National Park? Does its breathtaking landscape ignite your artistic passion? If so, Zion's Artist-in-Residence Program beckons you to share your creativity with the world.
The application window for the 2025 Artist-in-Residence Program is open now and runs through July 19, 2024. This esteemed program offers two talented artists the opportunity to immerse themselves in the splendor of Zion for a month-long residency.
Eligibility for the program is open to all professional artists who are American citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Applicants can choose from three residency periods: February 2025, June 2025, or mid-October to mid-November 2025.
Selected artists will receive complimentary housing within the park throughout their residency. They will also have the chance to engage with both park visitors and the local community through two public programs tailored to their artistic medium and interests. Whether hosting open studio sessions or interacting with hikers near trailheads, artists are encouraged to share their creative process and insights with others.
In return, artists are expected to submit an original piece of work inspired by their time at Zion within six months of completing their residency. These artworks may become part of the park's permanent collection or be utilized to support future iterations of the Artist-in-Residence Program in collaboration with the Zion National Park Forever Project.
The Zion Artist-in-Residence Program offers a unique opportunity for artists to connect with nature, explore their craft, and contribute to the cultural heritage of this iconic national park. Don't miss your chance to be part of this enriching experience. Apply now and let your creativity flourish amidst the stunning landscapes of Zion.
