The much-anticipated annual Water Festival is gearing up to create waves of excitement in Southern Utah on Saturday, June 29th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Held at Main Street Park in Cedar City, this event promises a day packed with family fun and educational opportunities centered around the vital theme of water conservation.

Organized by the Central Iron County Water Conservancy District and Southwest Plumbing Supply, the festival aims to not only entertain but also educate attendees about pressing water issues. "We are thrilled to once again host the festival and bring our community together to celebrate the importance of water," remarked Paul Monroe, General Manager of the Water District in a press release. "By fostering a deeper understanding of water issues and promoting sustainable practices, we hope to inspire positive change and empower individuals to make a difference."

The festival lineup includes a variety of engaging activities for all ages. Visitors can explore interactive water information booths staffed by experts from USU Extension, Division of Water Resources, Bureau of Land Management, and Southern Utah University. These booths will feature information on local water challenges, water-efficient products, and landscaping tips such as Localscapes. Attendees can also benefit from free water checks and learn about water efficiency rebates.

For families, there will be a wealth of entertainment options, including a foam cannon, bounce houses, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and outdoor games like volleyball. Live music by local band Spilbeedog will provide a lively backdrop, encouraging attendees to relax and enjoy the festivities. Blankets or lawn chairs are recommended for those planning to stay for the musical entertainment.
