A Southern Utah Airbnb host is under arrest for sexually assaulting a 58-year-old woman staying at his property. Police took Jeremy Ray Spence of Hurricane into custody at his home. He is charged in 5th District Court with object rape, a first-degree felony and forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony. Records show he is held at Washington County Jail. Police did not release additional information.

Search For Missing La Verkin Man Continues

Deputies are asking the public to help find a missing La Verkin man. Tristen White was traveling to Garden City for a work trip. He was last seen at a local pizza restaurant next to the hotel where he was staying. White is of Native American descent. He is six-foot-two-inches tall, and weighs around 200 to 220 pounds. Deputies ask if anyone has information to contact the Rich County Sheriff's Office.

February Tracking To Be One Of The Wettest

This February looks to be one of Utah's wettest on record. The National Weather Service's Climate Prediction Center recently issued its three-month outlook for this spring. That report shows much of the state has a greater probability of above-normal temperatures. All Utah is showing equal chances for precipitation. Meteorologists say that about 95 percent of the state's water supply is from the snowpack and snowmelt process. More than two-thirds of this year's snowpack collection is from January 1st. March, April and May are typically three of the state's wettest months.

Arson And Animal Torture Charges For Sandy Man

A 27-year-old Sandy man is accused of setting a fire that caused the death of a relative's pet. Julian Heildo Gonzalez was charged Thursday in 3rd District Court with aggravated arson, a first-degree felony and three counts of torture of a companion animal, a third-degree felony. Police arrested Gonzalez on Tuesday after he was involved with an altercation with family members. Witnesses say Gonzalez took a BB gun and shot a male relative in the face and chest, then started a fire in the residence knowing three family pets were inside. A puppy was euthanized from injuries caused by the fire.

No Risk Found From Natural Gas Smell

Safety crews in West Jordan say there is no public health risk after an investigation into a report of a natural gas smell near 9000 South 4800 West. Dominion Energy and fire crews responded to concerns at about 9:15 a.m. on Thursday. Residents were asked to shelter in place while the investigation was conducted. Authorities say no gas leak was detected in the area.
