There are those who don't really get going just because a famous person is in their proximity. And then there are those who get all dolled up and make t-shirts. I'm kind of in the first group.

I once was in a Blaze Pizza with Bryce Harper. It was basically just us and two other people and I didn't bother the man.

That being said, had I known about what was going on in Payson last Friday I would have made the voyage.

Friday was the 40th anniversary of Footloose, and Kevin Bacon went to Payson high school where they filmed a bunch of the movie.

He gave a speech. The students helped do some stuff for his charity and it was a cool thing.

According to ABC4.com

“When I first heard about this Bacon to Payson thing, I was like ‘Wow, this is crazy.’ But you were all just tireless. Unrelenting … You talked me into it,” Bacon said. “I think it’s great to see that kind of commitment to anything. I also think that it’s amazing the power that this movie has had to just kind of bring people together, and connect on the basic ideas there are behind the movie – you know, standing up to authority sometimes, and to being forgiving to people who are not exactly the same as you, and for standing up for your own freedoms and your right to express yourself, and for having compassion for other people.”

Well done by the student body at Payson. That's a really cool moment.
