Here's his steps to becoming a bird whisperer:

1. Get them used to your presence by standing near when they are eating. Get closer as they become used to your presence.

2. Move towards a feeder in you yard and put food in it when they are watching.

3. When they get used to seeing you bringing food, they will come to the feeder. He adds a whistle the birds can recognize.

4. When they see you and expect food, don't put it in the feeder right away but hold it in your open hand.

5. Stand with your hand open and move your thumb back and forth. This movement will keep the birds attention.

With enough patience the birds will recognize you and they will begin to land on your hand to eat. Stefan says it is well worth the effort and it can be exhilarating the first time a bird trusts you enough to eat.
