How T-Rex Arms Can Save Your Thanksgiving Dinner
Attention Utah Thanksgiving Day Diners
Just in time for Thanksgiving Day scientists have discovered something that might save you from disaster this year at the big feast. There is a new theory that might explain why Tyrannosaurus Rex had such tiny arms–and believe it or not, it might save you some pain this upcoming turkey day.
Scientific Insight on Tiny T-Rex Arms
According to this study the arms might not have been just evolutionary leftovers–they may have been short for safety purposes. Just imagine a juicy Triceratops is hefted to the table. (How chef T-Rex was able to heft it with his tiny arms is still a mystery of course.) The T-Rex family forgets their manners, their political arguments and even to say grace and rip into the main course. Just like your table that year when you pulled your hand back with Uncle Ted's dentures attached to your arm, they have thrown caution the wind. According to this theory the T-Rex might have developed little arms to keep them from becoming part of the entree when a feeding frenzy occurred.
Solid Appendage Preservation Application
The Reach Rule: When the stuffing is just out of reach, don’t stretch like a velociraptor. Ask politely or trick your muscle-bound nephew to grab it for you.
Look Before You Bite: It will take some self-control, but before you bite full force on that turkey leg take a peek to make sure it is not attached to a cousin.

Keep the Wrestling in the Ring: Sure you are going to be in a side dish stand-off where it's high noon and there aren't enough potatoes in this town for the two of you, but before you go for a sleeping elbow drop take a minute to determine if there another dish of the same on the other side of the table.
Official Utah Thanksgiving Safety
So, this year, remember: Utahns may enjoy a large family thanksgiving get together, but that doesn't mean it has to turn into a full‑blown T‑Rex feast. Don’t go reaching across the table like a dinosaur with a death wish and maybe, just maybe, this year everyone can go home with all of their appendages.
