Police say two armed robbers are in custody after a car pursuit that started on South Union Avenue in Midvale late Wednesday. Unified police responding to the robbery call found a victim with gunshot wound to the arm. Using the victim's description, police chased the suspects' vehicle which hit several cars and for safety reasons, the pursuit ended. A helicopter later located the vehicle and a passenger was arrested. The driver who fled the scene was later taken into custody. He is identified as 26-year-old Maxwell Archibald. Police did not release the name of the other suspect or information about what charges they may be facing.

6,000 Without Power In Iron County On The First Day Of School

The lights are back on in Cedar City after an outage impacted the first day of school. More than six-thousand customers were left without power yesterday after Rocky Mountain Power said there was a fault in the line. Most had their power back on within about 30 minutes but others had to wait an hour or more. It happened just before the start of school and affected multiple campuses. However, the Iron County School District ran the school day as scheduled.

Midway Man Accused Of Shooting Neighbors Dog

A Midway man is accused of shooting and killing his neighbor's dog. The neighbor says Rodreck Storms held the Bernese Mountain Dog named Blue and shot him. Storms says it was self-defense and that the dog was acting aggressively and he was afraid. Storms is facing animal cruelty and gun charges. An investigation is continuing.

Carbon Monoxide Victim Identified

Police say a 24-year-old Vineyard woman died after inhaling carbon monoxide while sitting in a parked and running vehicle in a garage in Vineyard on August 7th. The woman later identified as Angelica Avila Almanza was taken first to a local hospital, but was later transferred to Intermountain Medical Center where she died four days later. A man also found in the garage remains hospitalized in Provo. Four others in the adjacent house including three children were treated and released. Investigators say the couple were most likely running the car to use the air conditioning.

New School Open In Spanish Fork

Some 16-hundred Nebo School District students are enjoying attending high school in a brand new building. The students entered Spanish Fork High School yesterday for the first time. The new facility is larger than the old school by about 100-thousand square feet. It has a state-of-the-art auditorium, brand-new gyms and four learning wings with top-of-the-line career-related technology. The campus will also house Oakridge School, which is designed for students with severe disabilities.
