The Acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has passed away. M. Russell Ballard passed away at approximately 11:15 p.m. on Sunday November 12th. He was 95.

Church leaders made the announcement this morning. President Ballard was surrounded by loved ones at the time of death. The Apostle had recently been in the hospital for a short period of time. Elder Ballard has served on the Quorum of the Twelve since October 6th, 1985. Elder Ballard attended the University of Utah and worked in the automotive, real estate, and investment industries in his professional life. Funeral details are pending.

Church President Returning To Office Work

The president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is slowly returning to the office. In a social media post on Friday, Russell M. Nelson said his recovery from a fall in September has been "rigorous." Nelson explained that he's been attending most meetings virtually, but now he'll start coming back into the office on select days. He also thanked community members for their prayers and support over the past two months.

Man Killed Walking In To Traffic In American Fork

A man who walked into rush hour traffic this morning in American Fork is dead. The Utah Highway Patrol says a car crashed into the barrier of the southbound lanes of I-15 at 500 East. The driver then got out and walked in front of an oncoming vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers are still investigating the incident.

One Injured In Wild Lawnmower Race

One person is recovering after being critically injured during a lawnmower race in northwestern Arizona. First responders were already at the race area in Beaver Dam when a high-speed lawnmower crashed into an unoccupied van on Saturday. The unidentified racer was flown to St. George Regional Hospital for treatment. No update on the racer's condition has been given.

Suspect In Ogden Shooting Identified

The suspect in a deadly double-shooting in Ogden is being identified. Police were called to 30th Street yesterday morning on a report of a shooting, and found one man dead and another in critical condition. Nineteen-year-old Ricardo Caballero was arrested in connection with the shooting and faces charges including aggravated murder. The names of the victims haven't been released.

Millcreek Firefighters Rescue Litter Of Kittens

A litter of kittens was rescued from a burning apartment in Millcreek today. Firefighters responded to the blaze this this afternoon, after a bathroom fan caught fire in one in the units. They discovered the young cats inside the smoke-filled apartment and carried them to safety. The kittens were reunited with their owner, who wasn't hurt in the fire.
