Southern Utah’s WEIRDEST Family Recipes!
Everyone has a family recipe passed down that is TOTALLY WEIRD to everyone else, right? Today in studio, I was talking about this topic. Here are a few Weird Family Recipes from RIGHT HERE in UTAH!
My Family's Chinese Casserole:
It's pretty unique, even half my family doesn't even like it. BUT I DO! It's ground beef, rice, and Cream Of Mushroom soup all mixed into a casserole dish, baked and those weird little crunchy La Choy Chow Mein noodles on top! It tastes even better on top of bread and butter. I LOVE CHINESE CASSEROLE!
Aaronee's Chili & Pancakes:
This one feels CRAZY, right? It comes from Aaronee's German great-grandma. It was a way to stretch the meat and make it last longer, since they were poor and couldn't afford good meat. It's ground beef, chili powder, onion and garlic powder, make a gravy and mix it ALL IN! Then it goes on top of pancakes! All the grandkids love it, and everyone requests it for their birthday dinners! Cute, huh?
Ike's Homemade Burger & Fries:
Ike's mom used to make this for him growing up, and it still is a HIT today. It's a fried hamburger patty, with grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms stacked on top, with NO BUN. You eat it with a fork and knife. Also, totally homemade French fries cut up and fried on the side. Ketchup also on the side to dip the fries and hamburger in!
