Of all the fifty states, Utah has a population that is the most religious. Evidence for that claim is part of a new study conducted by the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. Researchers reviewed Census data to determine that more than three in four residents in Utah have a religious affiliation. Alabama came in second with 63 percent of its residents having a religious connection. The study defines religious affiliation as a person who attends services regularly.

Cedar City Police Investigation Sexual Assault Allegations

The Duchesne High School boys basketball team is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault in February. Police say the incident allegedly took place at a hotel in Cedar City during the 2A state basketball tournament. It was being held at Southern Utah University and has already been looked at by the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office. The case is now being looked into by the Cedar City Police Department, who have offered few details because of the involvement of minors.

Driver Killed In Crash On I-15 Near American Fork

A man is dead following a fiery single-vehicle crash in American Fork. It happened on I-15 early Sunday morning, when a pickup truck crashed head-on into a barrier and burst into flames. First responders arrived and pulled the man from the burning vehicle. He was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and he later died. The interstate was shut down for two hours after the crash, and aftermath photos show the truck was mangled and burnt beyond recognition.

Victims In Murder-Suicide Identified

Police say they have identified the victims of a murder-suicide in Salt Lake City late Saturday. Officers found 36-year-old Samuel Bean Owen and his six-year-old son dead of gunshot wounds at a home on West Buren Avenue in the Ballpark neighborhood. Earlier at about 10:15 p.m., a family member called police for a welfare check. Soon after, a relative entered the house, found the bodies and called police. Authorities did not release the son's name.

Officials Find Body At Snowbird Resort

Officials say a body recovered in a search today may be that of a skier who was reported overdue yesterday near the Snowbird ski resort in the Twin Peaks area of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Local and state police say the identity and the cause of death will not be known until after tests are completed. The body was located in a difficult to reach area. The investigation is ongoing.
