The NFL Jersey Everyone In Utah Wants Is…..
Some days, living in Utah just makes me real proud. I will admit it right here and now, I didn't pay much attention to “the big game” on Sunday. I think I turned it on for about 5 minutes right before the half, saw the score, and decided “we're done here.”
Now, I don't begrudge anyone for getting involved with the NFL Championship game, and to be sure, there's a lot of fun activities around the game. Family and friends and all of the above getting together for time together is good to me whenever it came happen, and if a football game happens to be the catalyst of a gathering, I'm all for it.
And of course, over the years some of the most interesting and entertaining TV commercials have come into our homes by way the championship game. So, it's fun and I get it.
But the outcome of the game has never been a do or die situation for me.
But I know many people are invested in their sports teams, and hope they win many games. I have and still take a pretty much unlimited amount of grief for my apparent blind support of the crummy baseball team in Anaheim who have broken my heart every year they have been in existence (yes, I'm older than the Angels) except 2002.
And even though I should hang my head in shame, I wear Angels apparel as proudly as I can....with a paper bag over my head.
So, what has me proud of Utah on this day after that big game? Well, if we vote with our pocketbooks, it seems Utahans....er Utahns...well, I guess the legislature is going to decide that one. Anyway, residents of the state of Utah, didn't seem all that wrapped up in either of the teams playing in the championship game, or their star players.
Lids, the sports store known for selling jerseys, hats, and other sports apparel released it's most popular NFL jersey in each state, and Utah didn't seem to want to spend money on a Patrick Mahomes jersery or a Jalen Hurts jersey either (infographic here).
Nope, the NFL player that we spent our money on for a jersey was Christian McCaffrey. He's the running back for the San Francisco 49ers and was the jersey that sold the best in Utah. And he only played in four games this year.
Moreover, according to Lids, the NFL team that sold the most product overall in Utah was, again, the 49ers. And the 49ers didn't even make the playoffs.

Utah, you make me proud.
