Southern Utah University (SUU) is excited to host the 10th Annual Family Matters Conference, presented by The Call-to-Action Philanthropies. This free, two-day event will take place on October 24 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and October 25 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., at SUU in Cedar City, Utah. Open to students, community members, educators, and therapists, the conference will explore solutions to modern family challenges with a theme of “Family Wellness Through Early Childhood and the Lifespan.”

The event aims to strengthen relationships, promote professional development, and help students prepare to address real-world family issues. Participants will be provided with light breakfast snacks and lunch on both days, with pre-registration by October 1 required to guarantee lunch. Those seeking continuing education units (CEUs) can earn 14 credits for $125 ($100 for National Association of Social Workers members), with approval from the Utah NASW for mental health and child care providers.

Dr. Neff is also the co-founder of the nonprofit Center for Mindful Self-Compassion and has delivered a popular TEDx talk on self-compassion, viewed over 1.7 million times. Her insights will provide attendees with valuable tools to foster family wellness through mindfulness and self-compassion.
