We live in an imperfect world, and as humans, we have to deal with, from time to time, situations that can cause us some consternation. Flat tire on a trip? Not fun. A friend you haven't seen in awhile has to cancel a meeting you had been looking forward to. Certainly disappointing. An anticipated relationship that looked to be long lasting turns out to be short lived can be heartbreaking.

We get used to things, and when those things don't meet expectations we can feel a bit of perfidy.

Perhaps one of the most disrupting events that we face as a society is when we are told the food that we have brought into our homes to share with our families turns out to be corrupted in a way that could be harmful if consumed. But this does happen from time to time, and there is a recall in effect right now that you should be aware of.

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Nestle USA has announced a Voluntary Recall of a product that may be in your home now.

According to the release, Nestle is recalling a limited quantity of Lean Cuisine and Stouffers frozen meals. The reason for the recall is due to “the potential presence of wood like material.”

That doesn't sound appetizing at all. And what exactly is “wood like” material?

The products effected were sold nation wide from September of last year through the first of this month. The products were limited batches of Lean Cuisine Butternut Squash Ravioli, Lean Cuisine Spinach Artichoke Ravioli, Lean Cuisine Lemon Garlic Shrimp Fry, and Stouffers Party Size Chicken Lasagna.

Again, these were limited batches, so if you have any of these products in your freezer check the batch numbers in the FDA release to see if you have food that needs to be disposed.
