New Development Director J. Woody Lotts Joins Utah Shakespeare Festival
The Utah Shakespeare Festival has announced the appointment of J. Woody Lotts as its new Development Director. Lotts will officially begin his role in mid-August, bringing with him a deep well of experience in arts administration and a passion for building meaningful community connections.
Lotts, known as Woody, most recently served as Executive Director of the Tacoma Refugee Choir and as Director of Individual Giving at the Auburn Symphony Orchestra. In his new position, he will lead the Festival’s fundraising efforts, foster relationships with donors and sponsors, manage grant writing, and serve in an administrative leadership role.
Lotts Brings Impressive Resume
According to a press release, Lotts holds an MFA in Arts Leadership from Seattle University and a BA in Theatre Performance from Northern Arizona University. His previous work includes leadership roles at Numerica Performing Arts Center, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Phoenix Theatre, and Colegio Lord Byron in Peru.
“It all comes back to the people,” Lotts said in the release. “There is something deeply inspiring about working with individuals who care—who genuinely pour themselves into the work because they believe in the power of theatre, education, and community.”
