If you've listened at all to the radio show in the last week or so, you no doubt have heard that I'm getting a tad tired of winter.

It's not so much the snow, because what we get this time of year tends to come one day and be gone the next. But what I really wish would happen would be that it would warm up. Not 80's. Not 70's. Not even 60's. No, I would be excited if it would just consistently get in to the 50's during the day and stay out of the teens at night. If the weather forecast is at all accurate (I know, highly suspicious) we will see days in the 30's and 40's for the first full week of April, and night time temperature will dip in to the teens for a couple of nights.

I'm extremely grateful that our drought status has been downgraded, but come on, enough is enough. And yes, I know I recently wrote that as a society we need more patience. Besides, we need the slowly moderating temperatures to bring down that record snow fall (as of today south west Utah is at 317% of normal snow pack) in a manner that won't over run our systems and cause flooding. The last two summers have brought enough of that.

As the winter season may be coming to an end, many of us find ourselves anxiously waiting for warmer weather to arrive. While it can be difficult to wait patiently for the sun to shine and the flowers to bloom, there are a few things you can do to make the wait more bearable.

Plan for the warmer weather. Use the time you have to plan for the activities you will do once the weather gets warmer. Make a list of places you want to visit, events you want to attend, and activities you want to try out.

Get outside whenever possible. Even if it is still chilly outside, try to spend time in the fresh air. Go for a walk or run, take your dog to the park, or simply sit outside and soak up the sun when it does make an appearance.

Take care of yourself. Use this time to focus on self-care, both physically and mentally. Exercise regularly, eat healthy foods, and take time to relax and recharge.

Look for the upside. While it can be easy to focus on the negative aspects of waiting for warmer weather, try to focus on the positive. Enjoy the beauty of winter and the activities it offers, and remember that the warmer weather will come eventually.

By following these tips, you can make the wait for warmer weather a little easier and even enjoyable. Remember that everything happens in its own time, and before you know it, the sun will be shining and the flowers will be blooming once again. Maybe.
