When you think of the Utah Department of Transportation, your mind might first think of the people constructing the roads in the state, and keeping those roads open and operating. You might also use the UDOT app to check on traffic and road conditions through out the state.

But vehicular traffic isn't the only type of traffic that UDOT deals with here in the Beehive State.

Input Wanted For A Possible New Trail Between Cedar City And Enoch

UDOT is inviting public input as it studies potential routes for a new paved multi-use trail connecting Enoch and Cedar City. This proposed project is part of UDOT’s broader effort to expand the Utah Trail Network, a statewide system of paved trails designed to link communities and provide residents with more transportation and recreation options.

UDOT has launched a public comment period and will host an in-person open house to gather feedback. According to a press release, The public is invited to learn more about the study, review the route options being considered, and talk with members of the study team.

The open house will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Cedar City Festival Hall, Room 7, located at 96 N Main Street in Cedar City. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and voice their preferences for the trail alignment.

Public feedback will play a crucial role in shaping the project’s direction. The comments will be reviewed to determine a preferred alternative that provides a safe and convenient way for people of all ages and abilities to walk, bike, or scoot between the two cities.
